Brittany 1947

In the summer of 1947, Shirley, her two close friends Diana and Phyllis, and a male cousin of Diana's (who, according to Shirley, was only there  to assuage parental  anxieties and also because he knew how to repair a puncture) travelled by bicycle to Brittany via Paris. The eventful trip was in complete contrast to the 'first-class everything' trip Shirley had made when she went filming on location in the French Alps in the March of that year.
